Later Levels Question Of The Month, March 2018: Crossover Mayhem!

So this month’s QOTM comes from the lovely Luke over at Hundstrasse who wants to know what the best gaming crossover of all time is and why…

I’m here to set the record straight about what is ultimately the greatest gaming crossover ever (in my opinion) and possibly have a few (light hearted) arguments in the comments, so let’s begin!

The best moment that comes to mind for me, is the scene in the fourth chapter of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, I’m talking about none other than the Crash moment. That wonderfully nostalgic moment that was so perfectly Naughty Dog.

Not only did you get to play Crash Bandicoot as Nathan Drake, but you also got to have your beautiful wife Elena sit next to you and tease you about how bad you are! …Odd thing to get excited about I know, but if I was going to be ridiculed every time I got hit and lost a life, I would want it to be from Elena Fisher.

The cherry on top of this already perfect sundae was that you got to play Crash twice! TWICE!! Only the second time you’re playing in the epilogue as Cassie, Nate and Elena’s daughter, which was such an amazing full circle moment. It’s almost like Cassie gets to grow up with that game just like a lot of Uncharted fans did.

Okay, some tears are being shed at the thought of that now…

aaand this is where I cried!

Honestly, it was such a nice sentiment from the developers to include one of their most beloved titles in a newer franchise and I think fans of the game really appreciated it too. I know I got super hyped and emotional when I got to play through it.

What a great way to meld the old and the new together!

So there was my response, if you’d like to enter your own you can read the QOTM post on Later Levels for more info!
